Our scholarship program rewards emerging student leaders for their community service and their academic achievement. The MSCSA Leadership Scholarship winners serve their community in many ways–everything from mentoring Head Start students to organizing youth groups  to volunteering as a translator. 

To be eligible for the Minnesota State College Student Association Leadership Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a current student at one of the 32 Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (students attending private colleges or the University of Minnesota system are not eligible); and Have a cumulative grade point average (G.P.A.) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate strong leadership skills and a commitment to serving others. Graduate students are eligible, but undergraduate students will receive first consideration.
  • Each applicant must submit an official transcript, a resume detailing leadership roles, and 2 letters of recommendation in addition to the official application.   
  • Applications are due May 1 for fall semester and November 1 for spring semester.  

The MSCSA Scholarship Board reviews and scores all eligible applications.  

*Members of the MSCSA Governing Council are not eligible for the Leadership Scholarship.
